The Birkiebeiner is Western Canada’s Premier Nordic Ski Event and one of only three Birkebeiner Loppets in the world – Norway and the USA host the other two. Now in its 32nd year, the Birkie continues the tradition of honoring perseverance, courage and fortitude…as well as lots of Nordic Fun for the whole family! Get outdoors, get active, ENJOY winter – we are Canadian and we thrive in the cold.

Birkiebeiner 10 for 10 Club Challenge
Registering for the Challenge
Clubs must be registered with Cross Country Canada and provide club name, address and contact information to the office, along with the full list of 10 members. Email to
[email protected] or phone (780) 430- 7153. Each member registers individually but the entire team must register within a 10-day period to qualify.

This is an opportunity to visit our sponsors’ and partners’ booths, pick up a Birkie souvenir or two, get the latest waxing advice, watch waxing demos, and enjoy a sample of Alley Kat beer as you catch up with ski friends. There will be ski waxing space available for Club Challenge participants. This is where you pick up your Registration Package as well.
