Cross Country Alberta in partnership with the Alberta World Cup Academy is proud to announce 2013/14 Alberta Ski Team program.

The Alberta World Cup Academy (AWCA) is a part of the Cross Country Canada National Training Centre System. As a National Development Centre (NDC) our goals are to further the development of cross-country skiing as a sport, through the development of programs and services for athletes, coaches and officials enabling them to.

Cross Country Alberta is the provincial sport organization for cross country skiing in Alberta. The mission of Cross Country Alberta, which is governed by a volunteer board of Directors, is to lead, develop and promote the sport of cross country skiing throughout Alberta.

The Program Coordinator reports to CCA's Sport Manager, and has the following responsibilities:
1. Maintains and manages the CCA website, the e-newsletter "Nordic News"and social media sites including the CCA Facebook page.
2. Communicates with CCA members, clubs, program participants and the public to ensure timely information...

The Alberta World Cup Academy is holding an information evening on Sunday, March 24 from 6 - 8 PM at the HP Training Centre located in the Whistler Athletes Village.

Athletes interested in applying for the 2013-2014 are urged to come down and learn more about what the program has to offer.

Congratulations to all of the Alberta Cup race series Aggregate Champions! The Alberta Cup Aggregate Awards ceremony will take place at the Cross Country Alberta Annual General Meeting this spring.

The date and location of the AGM will be posted to the CCA website Tuesday March 19th.

Ptarmigan Nordic Ski Club recently hosted a Family Day ski for winterPLAY, a large recreational event in Fort McMurray aimed at celebrating winter activities and culture.

During the event, introductory classic ski lessons were provided to first time skiers then followed up by a guided tour of the Birchwood Trails.

Family activities were also held during the event where both adults and children could play soccer together and other fun games!

The IPLC is designed to bring together sport, health, education and recreation experts to advance the knowledge, application and implementation of Physical Literacy programming across the globe. The conference takes place annually in selected cities around the world.

The Events Committee has released the bid document to host the 2015 Haywood Ski Nationals.

Applications should be received by April 15, 2013.
