Augustana and CSC are embarking on an exciting and unique partnership to provide high-quality cross country ski programs for youth to university athletes. | |  | Posted Tuesday, May 8, 2012 Cross Country Canada is now accepting applications for the 2012/13 High Performance Coaching Experience (HPCE) program. Please fill annex A and return by May 31st.
The HPCE program provides developing coaches with a variety of practical training opportunities that can be delivered through the National Development Centers (NDC) and the NST programs. Coaches selected for this program will benefit from a wide range of opportunities like attending NST or NDC training camps, regular home base training sessions for up to a week long period and domestic or international race trips as well.

The awards are given at the CCA Annual General Meeting. To make a nomination in one of the categories, download the appropriate form. Nominations are due April 15th. |

| | |  | Posted Friday, March 23, 2012 Canmore Nordic Ski Club's midget age skiers participated in the 2012 Noram Youth Championships in Jolliette, QC on Feb 25-27, 2012.
In all, 14 skiers from Canmore Nordic participated in the event and were the winners of the club aggregate banner for boys born 1998/99 and they also were the winners of the club aggregate banner for girls born 1998/99.
Canmore skiers were participating in an exchange with Skinouk ski club of Gatineau, QC and Chelsea Nordiq of Chelsea, QC. |

Third position went to Norwegian Marte Haakenstad Braaten who is skiing for Rocky Mountain Racers.

Alberta had four more Jr. Girls in the top 15 with Marte Haakenstad Braaten (RMR) in 8th, Emily De Freitas (FNSC) in 12th, Danielle Vrielink (RMR) in 14th, and Kendra Hicks (CNSC) in 15th.
Maya Macisaac-Jones (RMR) won the gold medal in the Junior Women category.
Alberta had three Juvenile Girls in the top 15 with Sara McLean (FNSC) in 12th, Lauren Turcot (FNSC) in 13th, and Kirsten Gillett (CNSC) in 15th.

| | |  | Posted Tuesday, March 20, 2012 Alberta continued it's success at the 2012 Cross Country Ski Nationals with some strong finishes on Monday.
Maya MacIsaac-Jones of the Rocky Mountain Racers (RMR) placed 2nd in the Junior Women category.
Marte Haakenstad Braaten, also of RMR, won the Junior Girls 5km Classic race. Emily De Freitas and Suzanne Stevenson, both of Foothills Nordic, finished in 5th and 8th place respectively in the Junior Girls category.
Edmonton Nordic had three finishers in the top ten in the Juvenile Boys category with Anders Cowper in 4th, Luke Gerwing in 7th, and Tate Macdonald in 9th. |
