CBET Community Coach

This workshop is the first of two in the new Community Coach program focusing on training and certification of coaches who work with children nine years of age an younger, but also applicable for coaches working with older skiers who are just beginning the sport. This workshop provides a basic introduction to Community Coaching and covers the technique essentials for novice skiers, with and emphasis on the Bunnyrabbit age group. This is considered the minimum standard of training necessary for Jackrabbit coaches.


Fort Saskatchewan Nordic Ski Club will be hosting an Introduction to Community Coach Course on Friday November 19 (6-9 p.m.) & Saturday November 20 (9-4pm)

Cost: $65, payable to Fort Saskatchewan Nordic Ski Club and includes your workshop materials.
Location: Fort Saskatchewan Nordic Ski Club - Ski Chalet- River Road in Fort Saskatchewan.

Foothills Nordic Ski Club will be hosting an Introduction to Community Coach Course. This is an 8 -10 hour course that will be split over three time periods:

Wed, Dec 1, 600-830pm
Thur, Dec 2, 600-830pm
Sat, Dec 4, 2-5pm

Location: Small meeting room, basement, COP
Facilitator: Roy Strum, FNSC
Cost: clubs will be invoiced $70/person by CCA

Bring: ski gear, pencil

This is the first part of the new CCC coaching certification programs. Intro to Community Coaching will be offered on the preceding dates in 2004.

Please come prepared for inside classroom sessions as well as outside on snow sessions.

Hinton Nordic Ski Club will be hosting an Introduction to Community Coach Course on Saturday, December 4.

Cost: $65, payable to Cross Country Alberta
Trail Fee: $5 payable to Hinton Nordic Ski Club at course
Location: Athabasca Lookout Nordic Centre, Hinton

- Fully Completed Level 1 NCCP XC
- NCCP Level 2 Theory preferred (contact CCA if not done)
- Minimum 16 years of age or older
- Membership in a CCC club
