ADT Selection
Criteria
The ADT will be
selected from eligible athletes competing in the Midget and Juvenile
categories at the Alberta Cup Race Series.
There are 4 ways to
earn a spot on the ADT:
- Top 2 Alberta
Cup placings in each gender in the Midget and Juvenile categories (8
skiers)
Selection is based on Alberta Cup Points from the best 4 of 6
races** in the Alberta Cup series. Points are awarded as outlined
in the Alberta Cup Technical Package. Athletes can only count
Alberta Cup Points in their normal age category, i.e. athletes
racing up in any races will not have included any points they earn
in that category.
- One skier of
each gender from Midget and Juvenile categories not currently
selected to the ADT, based on discretionary winter talent
identification. (4 skiers)
- One skier of
each gender from Midget and Juvenile categories not currently
selected to the ADT, based on discretionary dry land talent
identification.
(4 skiers)
- One skier of
each gender from Midget and Juvenile categories not currently
selected to the ADT, based on the top placing in a designated
Alberta Cup selection race or races (4 skiers) if more than one race
is used, the top placing will be the skier with the best combined
time percentages.
CCA, may, in
extraordinary circumstances, make discretionary selections to the ADT.
Discretionary selections will be motivated by a desire to provide equity
in selections. Any discretionary selections must be based on criteria
consistent with the above.
Should any athlete
not accept their nomination to the Alberta Development Team, the next
ranked athlete will be selected.
** Race Cancellations: If less than 6
races take place, ranking will be based on 3 of 5/4 or 2 of 3/2.
